Hey all! Just wanted to share the wonderful news that I received yesterday from Dr. Grothey! I am still cancer free and doing great! All of my blood work looked great, and my CEA level (tumor marker) was right on! I was really concerned about this trip for some reason, but now I am on cloud 9 and feeling wonderful! In fact, I woke up last night and couldn't get back to sleep because I was thinking about how blessed I am to have this report!
Yesterday morning was really hard though. Caden finally started to realize what was going on. He didn't understand why mommy had to go to the doctor. He said "Momma isn't sick, why she have to go to the doctor?" He also told the lady at the information desk that "my momma has to go to the doctor". It really hit me hard that he was starting to put it all together. This is the first time that Caden has ever said anything about it. For my MRI I had to get an IV, and when I came back out the the waiting room to wait to be scanned, Caden wouldn't sit on my lap because he didn't know what was in mommas arm. I didn't think that this day would come for a while, but it just shows what a sponge he is. Someday he will take a look at the journal I started for him and realize what a true angel he was when he entered this world and saved mommas life! I love you little man!
